Maricarmen Reyes Larios

Maricarmen was born and raised in Sonoma and is a graduate from Sonoma Valley High School. She attended Sonoma State University and received a BA in Chicano and Latino Studies. Since she was 11 years old, Maricarmen knew she wanted to help the Latino community.

Maricarmen currently works for the Sonoma Valley Community Health Center as their Outreach and Event Coordinator for. She also holds part-time employment as a HEP tutor for farmworker students as well as support staff for an immigration attorney that focuses on U Visas. Her vast work experience ranges from education, immigration and non-profit organizations. She is a strong advocate of education, social justice and community health.

Maricarment also volunteers for many nonprofit, community outreach and volunteer organizations. She is a member of the Springs Municipal Advisory Council, the Suicide Prevention Coalition for Sonoma County, and of Lideres Campesinas Napa-Sonoma Chapter. She also serves on the boards Resources, Information Support, Knowledge Sonoma, Sonoma Valley Education Foundation, Sonoma Valley Catalyst Fund.

In 2023 Maricarmen received the Puente y Ganas award, given by Los Cein, a nonprofit organization centered around keeping Sonoma County a sustainable, inclusive and equitable place. The award is given to those who uphold community engagement, elevation, service, and innovation.
