Joshua Rymer

Joshua and his husband of thirty years have owned a home in Glen Ellen since 1998.

In his professional career, Joshua was Vice President and Partner with the Boston Consulting Group; working in New York, London and San Francisco. He advised companies in the financial services, consumer products, health care and high technology industries. Joshua headed the firm’s West Coast Financial Services Practice and co-authored an early book on how the Internet would transform the Financial Services Industry (“The Information Superhighway and Retail Banking”). Joshua later joined Charles Schwab & Co. to become Senior Vice President for Strategy, working in both the Retail and Institutional business units. Then, from 2006 to 2011 he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Terradatum, Inc., a software company serving real estate brokerage clients nationwide.

From 2011 to 2018, Joshua worked as an independent consultant developing sustainable business strategies and organizational efficiency designs for fast-growing organizations. During that time he worked with several nonprofit organizations, including: Crown Family Philanthropies, the Outdoors Empowered Network, Education Outside, Greenbelt Alliance, Ray Dolby Brain Health Center, and Miriam and Peter Haas Foundation. Finally, before retiring in 2022, Joshua served as a Senior Advisor to Hirsch Philanthropy Partners one of the Bay Area’s earliest and largest firms supporting families and foundations to achieve philanthropic excellence.

Joshua has served on several non-profit boards over the years, including: Sonoma Valley Hospital District (Chair), Community Foundation Sonoma County, Education Outside (Chair) and the Sonoma Valley Fund (President Emeritus). He earned both BA and BS with honors from the University of Pennsylvania and The Wharton School. He went on to get an MBA degree from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
