Donna Halow
Grants Volunteer
Donna first moved to Sonoma Valley in 1986. She bought a home on Hill Road in Glen Ellen as a country refuge. In the late 90’s she built a home in the hills of Sonoma and moved in full-time. For the past 8 years she has lived in the town of Sonoma together with her husband Paul.
Donna and Paul are often found hiking in Jack London State Park and the Sonoma Overlook Trail. They love to take guests to the House of Happy Walls Museum. Donna loves the small town ambience of Sonoma Valley, where one sees friends in the street, on the plaza, and in the shops.
Donna’s professional career was in finance at Ford, Levi’s, and Trinity Capital. After selling Trinity Capital to Bank of the West, she became a full-time Sonoma resident and started offering her finance skills to our local nonprofits.
After retiring, volunteering became her new job. Donna feels lucky be able to help so many stellar organizations. She has volunteered for or been a board member of many nonprofits including Jack London Park Partners, La Luz Center, the Sonoma Valley Fund.
Donna and Paul heartily support Sonoma Land Trust, Sonoma Regional Parks, Sonoma Ecology Center and, most recently helping Sonoma’s sister city in Ukraine. Donna also worked on all of the Sonoma Valley Hospital bond measures. Outside the Valley, Donna volunteered extensively with Grameen Foundation providing microlending in Africa.
